Our History in Evergreen
Our Evergreen chiropractor, Dr. Jason C. Steinle, founded Health and Harmony Chiropractic and Wellness Center in 2001. We are one of the longest established chiropractic offices in Evergreen, Colorado. Dr. Steinle knew he had found his home after discovering Elk Meadow Open Space the day after a Colorado snowstorm. Like so many of our patients he enjoys mountain biking, skiing, fishing, hiking, snowshoeing, tennis, golf, and camping. He and his wife, Amanda, are the proud parents of Grace, Jackson, Georgia and their Labrador, Samantha. They are grateful to be raising their children in Evergreen and introducing them to the active Colorado lifestyle. Amanda actively volunteers in the Bergen’s school and is learning to play tennis and mountain bike. Dr. Steinle coaches Jackson’s soccer team and tries to keep up with all of the kid’s activities. We enjoy attending services at Rockland Community Church and the Flatiron’s West Campus.
Dr. Jason C Steinle has been helping people in Evergreen, CO for nearly 22 years but his passion for chiropractic dates back even longer. Dr. Steinle first decided to become a chiropractor over three decades ago. Early in his life he “made the rounds” at Ft. Meade VA Hospital in the Black Hills of South Dakota with his dad. It was going from hospital room to hospital room that he discovered his “calling”. At that time the majority of the hospitalized veterans were WWII men. Seeing them hooked up to monitors, feeding tubes, oxygen and IVs made a lasting impression on Dr. Steinle. He recalls one veteran asking to have his arm taped after a blood draw. The man was told “No. It’s not like you have someplace to be. Just hold the cotton for a few minutes. ” The reality was that this man was not going to be going home. He would never be back at his ranch, church or have dinner with family. He was going to be laying in that hospital bed until the end. The majority of the veterans on that floor were never going t+o leave the hospital and yet the majority of staff’s time and resources was to dedicated to help keep them alive and comfortable for a few more days. At that moment Dr. Steinle asked the question, “What if we could do more for these men when they came in as out-patients for their annual check-ups? What could we do to add more life to their years when they still were going home to their family, ranch and community instead of just trying to add a few days to end of their life.” The question is now “how can we add more LIFE to years and YEARS to life.’ It is the underlying question that motivates Dr. Steinle.
It was a few years later in middle school that Dr. Steinle discovered chiropractic when writing a research paper on “alternative medicine”. He learned that chiropractic is the world’s largest natural health care profession. Doctors of Chiropractic purposefully chose to help patients without the use of drugs or surgery. Chiropractors work to help patient’s heal from the inside-out. In chiropractic Dr. Steinle discovered what he had been searching for. A profession that focused not on just helping people heal but also helping them stay healthy. He made the decision at an early age that he wanted to become a chiropractor.
Dr. Steinle graduated at the top of his class from Northwestern Chiropractic College. In addition to his Doctor of Chiropractic degree he has a bachelor’s degree in human biology and a minor in chemistry.
Since the Fall of 2001 Dr. Steinle hosted The Steinle Show talk radio program on 102.7 FM KYGT (and three years as a television host on Denver Community Television) As host he interviewed top researchers, surgeons, medical, chiropractic and naturopathic doctors in the United States.
In May of 2005 Dr. Steinle released his first book–Upload Experience: Quarterlife Solutions for Teens and Twentysomethings. The book was featured in the Westword and newspapers at BYU, Texas A&M, University of Virginia, Brigham Young, and many others. Since the release of Upload Experience: Quarterlife Solutions for Teens and Twentysomethings, he served for several years on the Colorado Independent Publishers Association’s Board.
Prior to earning his doctorate degree, Dr. Steinle trained at a yoga and meditation center in California. There he took part in yoga teacher training, meditation, and nutrition courses. In 1997 he completed his certified massage therapist training program at the Phillip’s School of Massage Therapy in California. He worked as a massage therapist in chiropractic clinics throughout his doctorate training. Today Dr. Steinle continues to draw from his yoga and massage training at Health and Harmony Chiropractic and Wellness Center.
